Police investigating after finding skeletal remains in a home
Champaign - The Champaign Police department is investigation a
Police were called to the 400 block of West Eureka on Wednesday. When they arrived they found
skeletal remains for a person who lived in the home. A family member reported
the death, indicating the skeleton was his brother, and he was developmentally
disabled. The family member was the care-taker for the past 10 years.
Champaign County Coroner is releasing preliminary information. The coroner
said, The person appears to have been dead for a considerable length of time,
possibly since last August, and is believed to be Donald Allen, 47.
Due to the discomposure of the body a cause
of death could not be determined. However, no evidence of trauma was detected.
His death is believed to be from natural causes at this time.
