Decatur - The historic Beach House on Lake Decatur is about to undergo a renovation.
The Beach House, which is home to a popular restaurant, will see work begin possibly within a month. That work could be done in March or April.
"It's about a $750,000 project," Park Board President Chris Riley told WAND News. "It's all part of lakefront development. We've got the new promenade and boat docks here and now the next step is the Beach House.
The cost of the project will be split evenly between restaurant owner Todd Mason, the Decatur Park District and the city.
Next summer boaters will be able to use the new docks in front of the Beach House and go inside for a meal.
