Man accused of killing mother and baby expected in court


Springfield - The man accused of killing a Sangamon County mother and her baby was expected in court Monday.

A status hearing for Eric Fagan, is now scheduled for Thursday. Fagan has not entered a plea, but if he's convicted he will spend life in prison.

Fagan, has been charged with the killing of Jade Ostermeier, 17, and her 3-week old daughter Alexis Fagan.

He is charged with five counts of 1st degree murder, two counts of aggravated arson and one count of criminal sexual assault.

Ostermeier and her daughter were found dead inside a home on Springfield's Maple Avenue back in December 2010, which  was set on fire.

The house was rented by Marc Fagan, Ostermeier's boyfriend, the father of Alexis Fagan and the accused murderer's brother.
