Decatur - Two people are arrested on preliminary charges for failing to register as a sex offender.
Police are also searching for another who they believe is violating the sex offender law. The Macon County Sheriff's Detectives and a US Marshal's Deputy conducted sex offender compliance checks in the county.
"We must be proactive to ensure the safety of all residents in Macon County. These compliance checks are necessary in achieving our goal of total compliance. When non-compliance is detected, enforcement action is taken immediately, said Sheriff Thomas Schneider."
Police checked 33 locations in all. 14 detectives and US Marshals took part.
