Ex-convict pleads not guilty to murder charges

Decatur - An ex-convict who was released from prison early, pleads not guilty in a August murder.

Joshua Jones, 28, is charged in the shooting death of Marvin Perry. Decatur Police say around 9:30 on August 15th, they were called to 1228 N. Union St. for a shooting.

Marvin Perry, 22, was shot and taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital. Perry later died from his injuries.

At the time of the murder Jones was on parole and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. A state employee failed to follow that order.
