Macon County Escapee Found

UPDATE 6:30PM: Schuyler McCoy has been taken into custody. He was arrested shortly after 6:00 p.m.

Deputies say he was spotted by several people who knew him.

He is currently back in Macon County custody and is charged with escape.

 

Original: Decatur - The Macon Co. Sheriff's Office is currently looking for Schuyler C. McCoy on charges of Escape and parole violations. 

 

McCoy is a white male, 5'11" tall weighing approximately 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes with a date of birth of 12/27/87. He was last seen wearing a white T-Shirt and black pants.

 

At approx. 1:30pm, McCoy identified himself to correctional officers as another inmate when the Macon County Jail was in the process of releasing an inmate on bond. 

 

McCoy was serving time for the stabbing of Michael Diggs. The stabbing happened back in August, in the 1700 block of East William.  

 

The Macon Co. Sheriff's Office along with the U.S. Marshal Service and the Decatur Police Department are actively looking for McCoy to return him to jail.  Anyone with information on McCoy's location is urged to immediately call 911, Crime Stoppers at 423-TIPS (8477),  the Macon Co. Sheriff's Office at (217) 424-1311 or their local police or sheriff's office.
