Eastern Illinois fraternity will remain on suspension until 2019
Charleston - A fraternity at Eastern Illinois University will remain on suspension until 2019.
Eastern Illinois University said that the university has concluded its review of the "barn party" incident involving Phi Beta Sigma's Eastern Illinois University chapter.
The fraternity did violate the Student Conduct Code has been upheld and the fraternity has been suspended until the conclusion of the spring semester of 2019. In addition, the fraternity must complete 300 hours of community service in the City of Charleston and pay restitution of $2,000 to the City of Charleston.
Phi Beta Sigma hosted a "barn party" on Sunday September 15th. Shots were fired and three people were taken to the hospital.
