Multiple Shootings Ring Out Across Decatur


Decatur- There were multiple shootings in Decatur on Sunday.

Two shootings off North Union Street and West Grand Avenue. During separate incidents, suspects first shot a vehicle and then shot one man in the leg.

Decatur police said, they believe a man was shot between two homes in an alleyway.

Witnesses said, the 21-year-old victim was transported to DMH and he is in okay condition.

Then on East Lawrence Street and South Jasper, there were more shootings.

Police canvassed the area for shell casings.

However, shootings have been happening all day across Decatur.

Homes were damaged. 

A Decatur police sergeant, Chad Shull gave a rundown of some of the shootings today.

He said, starting at 2:14 p.m. It was the two shootings on North Union. One shooting on North Huron, one on East Lawrence Street and another shooting on the 1200 block of East Walnut.

Decatur police are still investigating these crimes.
