Police step up patrols after weekend shootings

Decatur - Police are stepping up patrols after a rash of gun shots rang out this weekend.

 

Police responded to five separate shooting incidents on Sunday. Only one person was hurt from a shooting on North Union Street. A 21-year-old was sent to the hospital after being shot in the leg.  His injuries were non-life threatening.

 

Detectives say they have extra patrols assigned to certain neighborhoods. No one has been arrested at this time for the shootings.  

 

Here is a list of where the shootings happened:  

Two shootings occurred on North Union Street and West Grand Avenue

One on East Lawrence Street and South Jasper Street

Another happened on North Huron

The last happened in the 1200 block of East Walnut Street

 

Police continue to investigate.
