Decatur - The "Decatur Cares Rescue Mission" opens their doors on Sunday, to give a sneak peak into the newest homeless shelter.
The home combines residents from the men's shelter downtown and the Women of Grace House. Sunday donors, volunteers and the community will get to see the $22,000 worth of work. The 19,000 square foot building will hold up to 72 men, 22 women and six children. 15 men and 12 women will move in when the building is open.
The open house will take place at 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at 2175 E. Pershing Road. To learn more about the mission you can check them out on Facebook.
