Decatur - A Decatur man takes a plea deal in connection with a shooting in January.
Reco Owens, 22, entered a guilty plea in Macon County Court.
Police say Rafael Kennedy, Junior,21, was shot in the five hundred block of South Oakland Avenue, in the chest, in January. He later showed up at a hospital to be treated, and was later released.
Owens told police, back in March that he was not involved in the shooting and did not know anything about it. Police conducted interviews about Owens involvement with the shooting. According to a witness Owens made statements about his knowledge of the shooting.
Owens was allegedly talking about one of the subjects from the victim's location that had a gun, and was pointed out to the group responsible for the shooting. According to police, statements allegedly made by Owens match the statement of the victim who was shot.
