Decatur - Less money is coming into the city's treasury.
Decatur is facing a 1.6-million dollar budget deficit. City Manager, Ryan McCrady says that the number of city employees will be cut, in order to eliminate the deficit. One option is out of the question, raising property taxes.
There is no exact number of employees to be laid off. The first look at the city manager's proposed budget is tonight. It should be finalized December 16tth.
