Decatur - A city in mourning, and friends and family saying goodbye, as 15 year old Junisha Cummings was laid to rest Monday.
Cummings' death came as a shock to everyone.
The latest victim of gun violence, friends and family are hoping this will bring peace to Decatur.
Friends and family packed the Life Builders Church of God.
Many in attendance called her death tragic, but they also said that some good can be found in this time of sadness.
The church's pastor said that through her death, Cummings will help change lives.
"I would hope that it would pierce through some darkness in some people's hearts. I think that it's from God, I think that it's going to change some lives," said pastor Tim Lusitana.
There will be a rally for peace in Cummings' honor later this week according to family and friends that spoke to WAND News.
