Pet owners looking for long term items after tornadoes

Posted:

Springfield - The Animal Protective League is looking to collect pet items for the victims of the Washington tornadoes.

Last weeks collection brought in enough food items, but they are in need of dog and cat beds, food bowls, collars, leashes, toys, and litter boxes. The disaster coordinators have said that pet owners need longer term items for people who have lost all their belongings.

If you would like to donate you can take items to APL's shelter at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield, between 8:30 and 11 a.m. and noon to 5p.m.

For additional information, call the Animal Protective League at 544-PETS (7387) or check the group's web site at www.apl-shelter.org.
