Champaign - A lottery player is $100,000 richer and may not know it.
On December 10, 2012 a "Lucky Day Lotto" ticket was sold at the Super Pantry at 4202 West Springfield in Champaign. It won $100,000. The winner has never claimed their prize and could lose their winnings if the ticket is not turned in to the Lottery by December 12th of this year.
"They have to bring the ticket to us. We have to see the ticket here in Springfield," Illinois Lottery spokesman Mike Lang told WAND News.
Each month the lottery has over $2 million in winnings go unclaimed. Winnings from unclaimed tickets mostly goes to the Common School Fund. In 2012, $28 million in winnings went unclaimed.
