Aid from USDA available following tornadoes and storms

Posted:

Champaign - USDA Rural Development announced Wednesday that it stands ready to assist rural communities who suffered losses from the severe storms and tornados that struck Illinois this month.

Rural Development's housing programs can provide up to $20,000 in low interest loans for home repairs. The funding can be used to help families whose primary residences were damaged or destroyed as the direct result of the storms. Residents with damaged homes should first contact their insurance agent

More information on USDA Rural Development funding opportunities and contact information for the Illinois offices is available on the web at www.rurdev.usda.gov/ILHome.html
