Forsyth - After the Thanksgiving meal it was time to burn off some calories with shopping.
The deals started last night, and some stores stayed open through the morning. Best Buy in Forsyth opened their doors at 6p.m. last night, with a line stretching across the outside of the store.
With the shopping season starting later this year, store managers are saying Black Friday deals are no longer reserved for the day after Thanksgiving. "This year we obviously call it power week. So power week is all about sales for the whole duration of the week versus just Black Friday. So it's no longer a Black Friday deal. We're trying to make it a week long event all the rest of the week. Our in stock levels were really high this week. So we're extremely competitive. So all the deals you see in the ad will be the same for the rest of the week"
One of the most popular items this year are the big screen tv's, I-Pads and other tablets.
