Thanksgiving feast for tornado victims

Gifford - Families gathered together to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast less than two weeks after a tornado ripped through the town.

A Thanksgiving dinner was provided by Gifford United Methodist Church.  The meal has been a tradition for the past four years, welcoming families in need of a holiday meal.

The church expected the numbers to double from previous years, but only about 100 people came for dinner. Lay minister Gail Meyers, said the left over food will be used for continued relief to the Gifford area.

The church at 351 W. Plumb St. will hold a Blue Christmas Service at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 for all who have suffered a loss, are alone or in need.
