Drought holding strong in central Illinois

Lincoln - The drought continues to hold in central Illinois.

Recent storms have not helped, as much of the state remains dry. A report says several counties continue to be in a sever drought, including , Macon, DeWitt and Piatt counties.

Decatur officials last month asked residents to voluntarily conserve water as a result of low levels on Lake Decatur. The voluntary restrictions remain in place.
