Two school districts continue their search for a new superintendent

The search for new superintendents is underway across central Illinois.

In Springfield, they are one step closer to finding their new leader. A list of candidates have been narrowed down to six. This weekend the school board is expected to decide on 2 or 3 candidates.

The new candidates could be decided as quickly as next Wednesday, following a public forum. The forum will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday at the Grant Middle School Gym.

In Decatur, the search continues for a new superintendent for Decatur Public Schools. Search Consultants are actively searching for candidates now.

According to the school spokesperson Kendall Briscoe, the firm will be presenting a list of candidates to the school board in early January.
