Settlement delayed for shredding of internal affairs documents
The Springfield City Council tables a vote on a settlement between Calvin Christian III and the city of Springfield.
Aldermen voted to delay the settlement for two weeks, to clear a conflict of interest.
Christian filed suit when the city did not fill a "Freedom of Information Request" before shredding internal affairs documents of a police officer. The meeting revealed that Christian is currently involved in a traffic case, and is being represented by alderman and attorney Sam Cahnman.
Christian could get more than 100-thousand dollars, if the city approves the settlement.
