Toys for Tots applications greater then ever

Decatur - The need is greater then ever for WAND's annual Spirit of Giving day to help Toys for Tots.

This year there are over 1800 applications for toys, making it well over 3,000 kids who might not get anything for Christmas. From 7am to 6pm on Friday, December 13th, WAND employees will be in front of the station collecting new, unwrapped toys. Cromwell Radio will be broadcasting from 6am to 6pm from the WAND lot. You can also drop off toys at Slumberland on Ash Avenue.

All the toys will be taken to the Salvation Army and then the Salvation Army will distribute them to children in Macon County on Tuesday, December 17th. WAND understands that times are hard for many families this year. Our Spirit of Giving will put a smile on a child's face Christmas morning. If you feel it in your heart and can help this year, please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the station Friday, December 13th to donate to Toys for Tots. Remember, it's the thought behind it that will make a child smile.

This year's Spirit of Giving is brought to you by Menard's, St. Mary's Hospital, Slumberland, Cromwell Radio, and WAND.
