Red Kettle campaign gets competitive this Saturday
Decatur - Bell ringing is about to get competitive between local authorities for the annual Guns vs Hoses event.
The Macon County Sheriffs Department and county fire departments will face off against Decatur Police and fire fighters to help raise money for the Salvation Army.
To the police and fire departments it's not just about competition. Macon County Sheriff's Officer Jonathan Butts said "this allows us to be able to give back in a way that's positive to give back to the Salvation Army, because they do so much more for our community than what people know." Keith Hackl added " It's a great thing for us to be able to help people out in need other than in situations and times that are dire distress for them."
The teams will be in front of Wal-mart North and Sam's club this Saturday. In the past years they have raised over $10,000 for the Salvation Army.
