Donations lagging behind for Red Kettle Campaign

Springfield - The Salvation Army says donations to the kettle campaign are down from previous years.

Only 10 days remain for people to donate to the kettles. "We really want to thank the public for what they have donated to this year's campaign, but with only 10 days left, we have some work to do to approach our goal of $455,000.00," said Major Steven Woodard of The Salvation Army.

Money donated through the red kettles stays in the community and is used by The Salvation Army to help people with Christmas needs, as well as rent (when available) and utilities, food and shelter throughout the remainder of the year.
