Parents Flood Salvation Army to Pick Up Toys

DECATUR-More than a thousand people Tuesday picked up toys at the Salvation Army.

The parking lot and surrounding streets around the building were so packed, police had to direct traffic.

Captain Wesley Dalberg says the generosity of the spirit of giving made this possible.

"We were worried at one point that we wouldn't have enough and then we had the WAND toy drive and that went way over what we expected," says Dalberg.

All the toys in total will go to help 28 hundred local families making Christmas brighter for thousands of children.
