Springfield - Forget the five golden rings, and the four calling birds, the Springfield Fire Department's twelve days of Christmas is much more than a traditional song.
It's been twelve days of charity and helping out a community in need.
When you're a fire fighter, you help, whether it be responding to a fire, a car crash, or even a flood.
On Wednesday, members of the Springfield Fire Department were out helping feed the needy.
"We do twelve different charities we pick around town. Today we're focusing on the St. John's Breadline. Basically, helping them prepare food for homeless people and prepare food for later, serving, and cleaning up afterwards," said Springfield firefighter Allen Reyne.
"In addition to serving hot meals, and giving people food to take home for the holiday, the firefighters also donated $1000 to the St. John's Breadline.
