Champaign - The Salvation Army in Champaign County got a big boost.

The anonymous donor slipped a gold coin in a red kettle. The 2013 half-ounce gold liberty coin is worth at minimum $600. The coin was found on Saturday, at the Wal-Mart in Savoy.

This year the Salvation army is down 77% from last year, only raising $146,000 as of yesterday.
