Water lines freeze during Springfield house fire

Springfield - Firefighters ran into trouble while they were battling a fire, which destroyed a house on the Springfield's northwest side Tuesday morning.

The fire chief says the water pump and water lines froze on the fire trucks, as crews tried to put out the flames in a two story vacant home. One firefighter fell through the first floor of the home into the basement, fortunately he was not hurt.

No word yet on what started the fire.
