Adult diversion program helps county court system

The Macon County State's Attorney says an adult diversion program was a huge success last year.

They diverted 298 cases out of the Macon County Court during 2013. As a result fees collected through the program were up by 55-percent from 2012, totaling more than $111,000 for the county's general fund.

The program also collected nearly $46,000 in restitution for crime victims, a 103-percent increase over 2012.
