Unisys along with Agora Telecom, Comtex and Modulo are members of Brazil Seguro Consortium, which received the contract from the Extraordinary Security Department for Large scale Events (SESGE), part of the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.
Signed in the third quarter of 2013, the agreement has a total estimated value to the consortium of US$110 million (BRL$244 million). For its role in the project, Unisys will provide all infrastructure components to ensure the performance and availability of mission-critical applications running at the data centers.
"We are thrilled to be part of this project which is of great importance for Brazil's public safety, both during and after the event, and will be watched by sports fans around the globe," said Agostinho Rocha, Vice President, Technology Consulting & Integration Solutions, Latin America, and Managing Director, Unisys Brazil.
