Jacksonville woman dies after being struck by a car
Jacksonville - A woman is dead after she was struck by a car, on Thursday evening.
Valerie Oller, 59, was struck by a vehicle while she was walking along the roadway in the 1100 block of West Walnut street. Police say, there was a frozen puddle in the area and she may have stepped into the road to avoid it.
The driver of the car told police that he never saw Oller. Oller was wearing dark clothing, there were no street lights near the area of the accident.
Oller died instantly from severe head and neck injuries.
