Weather: A Love and Hate Relationship

Posted:

Decatur- For some workers, if it's snowing they can't call in sick. Some people rely on the white stuff, while others wish mother nature would give them a break.

Truck driver David Ldungu said, it is dangerous driving in these harsh weather conditions. In the past few days, he's been through Wisconsin, then Missouri and WAND caught up with him in Decatur.

"You're worried about your life. You don't want to die," Ldungu said. "Nobody cares about the driver."

He's frustrated because the weather is slowing him down and he's on a deadline.

"If you don't meet your appointments, you don't get paid. Some of the brokers are too harsh. They'll cut your money. They don't care whether it is snowing or it is not snowing," Ldungu added.

For Brian Cory it's the opposite, snow is his money maker.

"Normally we're the first ones out. We clear it before everyone else gets out there. A lot of the time road conditions aren't very good. If even you can see them," Cory said.

Cory has two jobs, his snow removal company puts extra money in his pockets.

"Knock on wood, we haven't had any problems. It's been good so far," Cory added.

Two different opinions; some love it while others hate it.
