Police investigating a home invasion

Decatur - Police are searching for information about a home invasion that occurred just last week.

A short time before midnight, a home invasion occurred in the 400 block of North Water Street on January 17th. The suspect entered the home by forcing open two different doors that lead to the inside of the residence.  Once inside the residence, the suspect located two victims in their bedroom.  The suspect pointed an object at the victims, which the victims thought was a gun.

The suspect then demanded money or he would kill them.  The victims handed over the money and the suspect fled the residence.  The object pointed at the victims was later determined to be a black colored plastic pipe.

The victims described the suspect as possibly Hispanic due to having tan or darker skin tone and a foreign accent. He was around 6'2 to 6'4 in height, around 220-250 pounds, wearing all dark clothing and a cloth covering the lower portion of his face.
