The Salvation Army Reaches and Surpasses Tree of Lights Goal
Decatur - The community came together to raise $394,209 for The Salvation Army's Tree of Lights campaign.
Captain Wes Dalberg announced that the community helped raise more than their official goal. "We cannot thank everyone enough for supporting us!" Donations were collected through the Red Kettles, mail, credit card donations and donations dropped off at The Salvation Army.
Dalberg said, "the Andreas Foundation placed us over the finish line and then some to help us reach our goal.
The Salvation Army foresees a critical situation in 2014. "The majority of our local programs rely directly on our community's support," says Captain Wes Dalberg.
