Autopsy results released for body found in field

Bloomington  -- McLean County released preliminary autopsy results of a body found in a Bloomington field.

Coroner Beth Kimmerling says the body of 19-year-old Yusuf J. Ahmad was discovered Sunday morning around 7:30 a.m. It was found about three miles from the ISU campus.

The results indicate he had signs and symptoms of cold exposure. Further toxicology results are still pending. Reports suggests that Ahmad wandered away from the Chateau Hotel on Jumer Drive and then collapsed.

The National Weather Service says the temperature in the area when Ahmad's body was found was about 23 degrees, although the wind chill made it feel like 7 degrees.

The Bloomington Police Department continues to assist this office with this young man's death investigation. Ahmad was a student at ISU.
