Breakfast program coming to more classrooms in Decatur
Decatur - Schools in Decatur can look forward to having breakfast in the classroom.
Over the next two years all Decatur schools with kindergarten through eighth grade will implement universal breakfast in the classroom. The plan will expand breakfast in the classroom, which is only in six elementary buildings currently. Soon all of the K-8 buildings will have the program.
The program would also make breakfast free to all students, whether they are eligible for free meals or not. All schools offer breakfast now, but not all offer it in the classroom.
They hope to add the two schools this year, four more next year, and four more the following year.
