Search committee makes offer to City Librarian hopeful

Decatur - The Decatur Public Library may have their next City Librarian soon.

A search committee was appointed by the Library Board of Trustees to search for a new City Librarian, after former Librarian Lee Ann Fisher stepped down in August. Lee served as the City Librarian for 12 years.

A search committee narrowed the applicants to three candidates. An offer has been made to hire one of the three finalist. They hope the new librarian will start in the middle of March or early April.

The library was under pressure to cute its budget, which was 750-thosand in debt .
