Land purchased to help feed the hungry

Champaign - 42 acres of land have been purchased by central Illinois farmers and agri-businesses, in hopes to fight hunger.

The "Farmers Feeding Families" group plans to donate money from corn sales to the United Way of Champaign County. They hope to raise more than $30,000 for local hunger relief programs.

The plot is located in Champaign and Urbana.
