Time to Rock the Woof

Posted:

DECATUR- As a NO-kill facility that receives no government funding, Homeward Bound Pet Shelter in Decatur largely relies on contributions from the community. This Sunday, February 16th from ten in the morning until ten at night, Homeward Bound is hosting an event called, Rock the Woof. This is a benefit for the pet shelter. There will be a ten-dollar donation fee at the door, along with eight featured bands, food, beverages, fifty-fifty raffle, a live auction, shelter pets, "Smooch a Pooch," and even a chance to win a car. Dreux Lewandowski from Homeward Bound, along with the rest of the shelter, is highly optimistic for Sunday's event, as there is no expectation for the number of people or donations. Funding is not all that's needed at the shelter; pet supplies, such as bedding, towels, and food supplies are in need. Supplies can be dropped off at Homeward Bound Pet Shelter at 1720 Huston Drive in Decatur. Their number is 217-876-1266.

This Sunday's Rock the Woof is at the AIW Hall at 2882 North Dineen Street in Decatur. Donations can be made at Land of Lincoln Credit Union and through Homeward Bound Pet Shelter Account.
