Bowl-A-Thon helps raise money for people with special needs
Decatur - Easter Seals, hosted their annual Bowl-A-Thon, Sunday, to raise money for people with special needs.
This year's theme was penguin polar bowl. The fundraiser has been going on for more than 27-years, and this year nearly 200 people came out to support.
Executive Director for Easter Seals, Lori Brown said those with disabilities need the extra help, "my heart is big towards people that have disabilities and that need extra help. We try to make sure that everybody living with a disability is able to get the services they need, live, learn, work, and play in our community"
Easter Seals has many programs, such as speech and language therapy, autism services, tutoring and even medical rehabilitation.
Evangelist Franklin Graham prayed on a sidewalk outside the Pentagon Thursday after his invitation to a prayer service inside was withdrawn because of comments that insulted people of other religions. More>>
