Piatt County - A man who accidentally shot a girl with an arrow will serve a year of court supervision.

Andrew Dick,21, was sentenced to one year of court supervision and public service. He plead guilty in court earlier this month.

In October, he was accused of losing control of a compound bow that hit, 16-year-old Maci Webb, she was air lifted to Carle Hospital.

The Piatt County Sheriff's Office determined the victim was seated on the tailgate of a pick-up truck down range of the archer.  Dick was learning to shoot the compound bow under the instruction of a friend. There was no apparent foul play or intention to cause injury to the victim.

Webb sustained a severe brain injury, leaving her unable to speak.  A Facebook page has been set up for a spring fundraiser, items will be raffled off.  You can find the page by searching #OperationMaci  on Facebook.
