As the roads pile up with snow, don't park in emergency snow zones. Police say those areas are first priority for plowers during winter storms.
"Vehicle's that are still on the route will be issued a city ordinance ticket," said officer Brad Allen of the Decatur Police Department. "Once all the vehicles on the snow route have been ticketed, we go back and vehicles still remaining on the snow route are subject to be removed or towed."
If the city manager decides to take enforcement, parking on these roads after two inches of snowfall is a traffic violation. The ticket is $50.
