Bond set for woman accused of shaking one-year-old
Charleston - Bond has been set for the daycare worker accused of shaking a one-year-old boy.
Patricia Brant, 42, is being held in the Coles County Jail on a $200,000 bond. The baby suffered bleeding on his brain.
Piersen Eaker was rushed to the hospital on Friday, after being shaken by his daycare worker. According to the family's blog, doctors have said there is no additional bleeding or swelling on his brain at this time. He is also breathing on his own now.
Brant was arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated assault of a child.
The incident happened at the "Treasured Tots Daycare" in Charleston. She is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
