WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) - Eight jurors have been chosen in the trial of a suburban Chicago man accused of raping women he met through Craigslist.
The Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake reports (http://bit.ly/MpPRJM) four men and four women were chosen Monday. The trial in McHenry County is anticipated to last through the week. It is the first of eight expected trials for 45-year-old Charles R. Oliver of Woodstock. Jury selection will continue Tuesday.
Oliver is accused of raping women who responded to his online ads for sex. Oliver's attorney says videotapes of many of the incidents don't show him forcing, threatening or harming any women.
Oliver is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint and harassment. He is held in McHenry County jail on $4 million bond.
