Golf Focus Group Meeting

DECATUR- Decatur Park District is reaching out for your help in order to improve Scovill Golf Course. Decatur Park District Golf Manager, Kurt Rogers, says one of the main problems Scovill faces is the declining number of golf rounds played within this last year. Rogers tell WAND that less people have been golfing consistently within the last year because of time and money. Golfing can be difficult to afford, especially for a family. A Golf Focus Group Meeting will be held tonight in order to discuss to the public topics such as: course conditions, Zoysia grass conversion, the future of golf operations, junior golf changes, creative ways to attract new golf players, and the Spring Kick-Off Sale (Feb. 28-March 2 at Scovill). Everyone is welcome to attend and bring any ideas to the table. Rogers hopes to hold these meetings every six months, but the next date is yet to be determined. More information can be found on

Tonight's Golf Focus Group Meeting is at 5:30 PM at Scovill Golf Course.
