Same sex marriage licenses could be issued early for Macon County
Macon County could be next county on the list to issue same sex marriage licenses.
The Macon County Clerk, Steve Bean says, he will make a decision early next week on same sex marriage licenses. On Wednesday Champaign county decided to join Cook county in issuing same sex marriage licenses, ahead of the June 1st start date.
A federal judge ruled Friday the state statue banning marriage for same sex couples is unconstitutional.
Sangamon, Logan, Cass, and Morgan counties have announced they will wait until the June 1st date to start issuing those licenses.
