Police release more information about car chase that left one dead

Danville - Police released a preliminary autopsy report for the man who exchanged fire with police last week.

 

Scott Islam dead on February 26th after a chase with Danville police. Islam and two other people were riding in the car when it crashed near Logan and Kimber. Shots were exchanged between police and occupants of the vehicle.

 

Islam was taken to an Urbana Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other two, Gaylen Thomas and Charles Twigg, were taken into custody.

 

Based on the preliminary autopsy report police believe the fatal shot came from within the vehicle and not from the outside.  However, they are stressing this is a preliminary report. The case remains under investigation.
