Gymnasts Place High at State Meet

Fire fighters escorted a state gymnast champion over the weekend.

After Layla White, 10, won state title at USA Gymnastics in bars and the all around, Argent-Oreana fire fighters gave her VIP treatment. Also, Ally Pfeiffer, 9, won fourth all around in the state meet.

Both girls are athletes at Dynamite Gymnastics in Decatur. They are in a gymnastics program that you see in the Olympics.

The assistant head coach said, it is rare that gymnasts place this high.

Lay la White said, "I never really placed that high and it's fun to go out there and do what you do."

The state meet was in St. Charles. The girls had to qualify and once they scored above 33, they were able to participate in the state meet.

Coaches at Dynamite Gymnastics trains children two-year olds to the elite level.
