New information released for shooting at The Downtown Motel


Hoopeston - Police are still investigating a shooting at The Downtown Motel, which happened on Sunday evening.

Police say, Bruce Eldridge, 40, was not the intended target of the shooting. Eldridge was shot to death on Sunday night, at The Downtown Motel in Hoopeston.

Hoopeston Police were called to The Downtown Motel, at 200 East Main Street for reports of shots fired. Police found Eldridge of Hoopeston, inside a room. A witness told police that they saw suspects flee the area on foot and then a vehicle.

New reports from Hoopeston Police say, that the shooing happened in an apartment near the room Eldridge was staying in. Police say someone who lived nearby chased the suspect to a dark colored SUV that left the scene.
