Fire damages Gifford construction building

Posted:

Gifford - A fire on Sunday afternoon caused damage to the M.J. Construction Building.

Our partners at the Champaign News Gazette report that a fire tore through the building on Main Street. Fire crews were called to the scene just after noon on Sunday. When they arrived flames were coming out of the main building.

The fire was under control shortly after 1. Gifford fire chief and the owner of the building, Rich McFadden says no one was hurt as a result of the fire.

Mutual Aid Box Alarm System is investigating the cause of the fire, to avoid any conflict of interest from McFadden's.
